Job summary

Olympus Corporation in the UK is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to lead the introduction of new products into manufacturing, ensuring process capability and regulatory compliance for changes and new lines. Based on-site at our UK&I HQ in Essex, you will work closely with Design Engineers to design production layouts, transfer manufacturing data, and support validation and change control.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a HNC or above in an Engineering discipline.
• Experience in a regulated Engineering or Manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques.
• Familiarity with design software tools and ability to interpret drawings.
• IT literacy including Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Design, plan and commission production line layouts/cells/equipment to achieve high QCD in NPI activities.
• Transfer and set up manufacturing data, including all manufacturing documentation.
• Complete document process verification & validation exercises in line with Design Control procedures.
• Provide ongoing support to maintain and improve production QCD.
• Generate engineering change requests (ECRs) to design change control procedures.
• Design and implement component supply and finished product systems (e.g. Kanban, Pulls systems).
• Conduct Health & Safety, COSHH and PUWER risk assessments as required.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant manufacturing processes (injection moulding, sheet metal etc.).
• Participate in development projects, continuous improvement activities, training, quality investigations and supplier selection.
