Manufacturing Engineer – Manufacturing Equipment and Facilities Acquisitions

Overview

Rolls‑Royce Submarines is looking for a Manufacturing Engineering – Manufacturing Equipment and Facilities Acquisitions to join our Regeneration Team in Derby. The role supports and delivers new capital equipment projects, working on machining, factory design and layout support as part of multi‑million‑pound investments.

What you will be doing
  • Managing capital equipment and facilities projects from cradle to grave, with a portfolio of 1 to 10 concurrent projects.
  • Deriving system and equipment requirements and producing technical specifications.
  • Contributing to safety assessments, system justification and continual improvement of capital equipment and tooling capability.
  • Planning and managing project activities – assessing risk, scheduling resources, controlling costs, and securing sign‑offs.
  • Supporting installation and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Identifying improvement opportunities using Six Sigma or Lean/CI tools.
Who we are looking for
  • Manufacturing equipment acquisition experience, preferably in highly regulated industries.
  • Project engineering experience managing capital plant budgets, specifications, installation and commissioning.
  • Plant layout experience and facilities integration.
  • Professional qualification: HNC/HND/foundation degree or equivalent.
  • Lean manufacturing experience.
  • MS Project experience.
  • Professional Engineer status (PE) preferred.
  • Security clearance: Security Check (SC) clearance without caveats, or ability to obtain one.
