Job summary

Safran S.A. is seeking a manufacturing engineer in the UK to drive the introduction of new and updated products into production, ensuring designs meet manufacturing and assembly requirements.

You will work closely with design engineering on product drawings and processes. The role requires an engineering degree or HND via apprenticeship and at least 2 years in aerospace or automotive manufacturing, with a basic grasp of DFA/DFM and manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent with relevant apprenticeship pathway.
• Minimum 2 years in aerospace or automotive manufacturing.
• Basic knowledge of design for manufacture and assembly principles.
• Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes.
• Interpretation of 2D drawings.
• Experience with 3D CAD modelling.
• Regulatory standards familiarity desirable.
• Aircraft seat manufacture or certification knowledge desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage average-complexity projects and collaborate with design engineering to ensure designs meet manufacturing and assembly requirements.
• Provide periodic support to operations, sales, R&T and after market teams to deliver customer requests.
• Contribute to new product introduction, ensuring on-time, cost-effective production with high quality.

The Industrialisation department is responsible for the development and introduction of new and updated products into production on time, to cost and to a high quality standard.

As a manufacturing engineer, you will have a good knowledge and understanding of the new product introduction process and be working at an advanced beginner/competent level.

You will be responsible for projects of average complexity and will work closely with other functions of the business especially design engineering to ensure product designs meet manufacturing and assembly requirements.

You will also be required to provide periodic support to operations, sales, R & T and after market teams to deliver customer requests.

• B.Eng. in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Aerospace Engineering OR HND gained through an apprenticeship. Essential
