Manufacturing Engineer - Assembly

18‑month assignment

Working Hours: 7:30 am‑4:30 pm Mon‑Thurs, 7 am‑10:30 am Fri

What will the Manufacturing Engineer do?
  • Proactively identify business opportunities, assess overall impact and justify to senior stakeholders for capital investment.
  • Project management – Full scope, development, budgets, resources and management of NPI or Improvement projects (Technology/Efficiency/Quality) from initiation to production and program completion.
  • Facilitate the development of manufacturing process solutions work with functional teams, using a range of tool e.g. process flows, PFMEA’s, control plans. Promote lean and quality as a focus within the business.
  • Monitor and report on project health, including issue management to ensure People, Quality, Velocity and Cost targets are achieved.
  • Developing equipment specifications and installation requirements and ensuring that the equipment is safe and meets the needs of manufacturing.
  • Working with facility teams to establish the correct suppliers and manage timelines to ensure successful delivery and implementation.
  • Coach and mentor to others in the application of process and procedures supporting standardised workflows.
  • Work cross‑functionally with multiple stakeholders to drive DFM and best manufacturing practices.
What experience does the Manufacturing Engineer need?
  • Manufacturing Processes: Knowledge of existing product manufacturing methods, technologies and processes; ability to execute, plan, manage and monitor the entire manufacturing process.
  • Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organise, monitor, budgets and control projects, ensuring efficient utilisation of technical and administrative resources to achieve project targets.
  • Manufacturing Safety: Knowledge of manufacturing safety; ability to identify work‑related hazards and perform necessary activities to meet regulatory requirements for the safety and protection of workers, environment and site.
