Manufacturing Engineer – CNC | Cheltenham | £40,000

We’re working with a leading precision engineering manufacturer based in Cheltenham, who are looking to appoint a Manufacturing Engineer with proven CNC machining experience to join their growing production team.

The Role

As a key member of the engineering department, you’ll be responsible for improving manufacturing processes, supporting NPI (New Product Introduction), and ensuring CNC operations run efficiently across the shop floor. You’ll work closely with design, quality, and production teams to deliver continuous improvement and maintain the highest standards of quality and productivity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and optimise manufacturing processes for CNC machining operations.
  • Support programming and tooling selection for CNC lathes and milling machines.
  • Drive process improvements to reduce waste, downtime, and costs.
  • Assist with new product introduction and prototype builds.
  • Provide technical support to production and maintenance teams.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards, health and safety, and lean manufacturing principles.
About You
  • HNC/HND or degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Production Engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong background in CNC machining, programming, and process optimisation.
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidCAM, EdgeCAM, or similar).
  • Practical problem‑solving skills and a hands‑on approach.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
