Job Summary

Manufacturing Engineer – Bristol – ShadowWorks Department. Rolls‑Royce is seeking an experienced manufacturing engineer to deliver manufacturing engineering activities, ensuring processes are safe, on‑time, cost‑effective, and quality‑oriented. This role involves collaborating across disciplines, supporting Defence and commercial programmes, and driving continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support and program various CNC machines (5‑axis milling) using CAD‑CAM software (NX preferable).
  • Actively participate in Design for Manufacture to influence early design decisions.
  • Collaborate with interfacing teams, local experts, partners, and suppliers to clarify technical manufacturing aspects.
  • Develop and maintain ShadowWorks manufacturing processes that meet safety, quality, cost, and lead‑time requirements.
  • Resolve technical problems and exercise professional judgment.
  • Identify and develop opportunities for new or improved manufacturing processes and technologies.
  • Plan and manage activities, communicating status to stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Professionally qualified engineer (UK minimum HND/foundation degree or equivalent) or equivalent professional experience.
  • General awareness of manufacturing systems and related software tools.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes relevant to Defence and commercial programmes.
  • Experience interpreting maintenance data and engineering drawings (GD&T).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
