Manufacturing Engineer (Composites)

Location: Gloucestershire

Employment type: Permanent position

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a stand-out aerospace engineering business as a Manufacturing Engineer in the development of aerospace components of a composite nature. As part of the NPI team, you’ll be at the forefront of technology advancements in carbon composite manufacture. This role is ideal for someone early in their career seeking career development.

Duties
  • Working directly with manufacturing and engineering teams to resolve manufacturing engineering issues.
  • Developing and utilising new carbon composite manufacturing technology, including Resin Transfer Molding (RTM).
  • Ensuring manufacturing is represented during product development and design for manufacture/assembly.
  • Developing test routines to establish process parameters for new technologies.
  • Employing virtual manufacturing tools to simulate workflow, automation sequences, and space requirements.
  • Developing robust, lean solutions for equipment layouts, process design, and product flow.
  • Ensuring that process capability, cycle time, and equipment availability targets are achievable.
  • Defining equipment lists, spare requirements, and training requirements (production, manufacturing engineering, and maintenance).
