Job Description

Apprentice – Manufacturing Engineering Team – Peterborough Facility (PE1 5FQ)

We are looking for a single apprentice to join our Manufacturing Engineering team. The role involves designing and improving high‑quality, low‑cost processes that produce defect‑free components for global manufacturing.

Training & Qualification

Our 53‑month apprenticeship is delivered in partnership with CU Apprenticeships (Better Futures) Ltd, part of the Coventry University Group. Apprentices will complete university‑based learning at least 6 hours per week, leading to a Level 6 Manufacturing Engineer apprenticeship standard. Outcomes include:

  • Level 6 Manufacturing Engineer Apprenticeship certificate
  • BEng (Hons) Manufacturing Engineering – on completion of the programme

University sessions are scheduled online once a week and onsite 1–2 times per month in Coventry city centre. Face‑to‑face attendance may require travel to the campus.

Upon successful completion, apprentices can apply for IEng (Incorporated Engineer) professional registration status.

Responsibilities
  • Drive performance and efficiency improvements into existing manufacturing processes.
  • Ensure processes meet product design requirements, cost, quality, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Design Engineering, Supply Chain, and other functions to develop skills necessary for a manufacturing engineer role.
  • Participate in multiple critical functions across the business, including quality, operational leadership, global manufacturing, supplier development, and design engineering.
Entry Requirements
  • GCSEs: Grade C or above in Maths and English.
  • A‑Levels: Minimum 96 tariff points, including Grade C or above in Mathematics and Science plus another subject reaching 96 points; or an Extended Diploma in Engineering or related subject with Merit profile.
  • Equivalent academic qualifications are accepted.
  • Predicted grades may be submitted; conditional offer will depend on achieved grades before September 2026.

Assessment Centre (in-person): 30 March – 10 April 2026

Engagement Day (in-person): 2 July 2026 (provisional)

Employment Start: 7 September 2026 (provisional)
