Responsibilities
- Designing and validating the manufacturing system using system engineering tools and methodologies (cell-based layout, lean workflows, line balancing, capital equipment planning, plant layout, and process simulation).
- Defining shop floor needs and coordinating them with the Facilities Management department.
- Setting up and updating MRP/ERP shop-floor routings, job cards, standard operating instructions, and quality documentation.
- Preparing technical documentation and supporting procurement, supplier management, and Make-or-Buy assessments.
- Providing technical assistance and troubleshooting for manufacturing and supply chain activities.
- Applying APQP principles where relevant.
- Conducting Design for Manufacture and Design to Cost evaluations, feeding improvements back to design teams.
- Collaborating closely with Jig & Tooling, Design, Production, Calibration, and Maintenance groups.
A couple of things you should know
- Proven experience within the aerospace and/or space sectors.
- Background in one or more areas such as avionics, assembly, integration, or testing.
- Experience developing assembly process documentation and ERP routings.
- Familiarity with root cause and corrective action (RCCA) methods.
During an interview, you may be asked about
- PLM and ERP tools (eg Arena and Microsoft Dynamics 365)
- Creation of test plans in an Avionics environment
- Your experience with creating/editing BoMs.
