Responsibilities

• Develop alternative production methods using Lean tools and techniques, support and drive automation and robotics implementation.


• Design factory layouts, fixtures, tooling, materials handling equipment, along with designing manufacturing processes for new products as part of the new product introduction process.


• Create drawings and concepts using a variety of software including CAD SolidWorks, ME10 and Microsoft Windows.


• Engage with the shop floor and wider team to solve any issues/problems, communicate and work with other operational departments.


• Productivity improvements using Lean techniques (e.g. SMED, TPM, Standard Ops, Capability Studies).


• Introduce quality improvements (e.g. gauging, traceability, measuring), and product cost and runtime analysis.

Qualifications

• A good understanding, and able to read production drawings.


• Experience in Lean Manufacturing.


• Good IT skills and be familiar with ERP systems, including placing Purchase Orders.


• Experience of project management.


• Proven experience of improving productivity in a professional environment.


• Experience in production cost analysis.


• Effective team player with the ability to work independently and take initiative.


• Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.


• Excellent customer service orientation.
