Join a world-renowned aerospace and defence organisation as a Manufacturing Engineer in Washington, Newcastle on a full time onsite basis.

Due to a drive for greater success, this advanced manufacturing business is currently searching for a Manufacturing Engineer to add to their talented, hardworking team in Washington on a 12 month contract. Striving for innovation and creativity you can ensure no two days will be the same.

Rate: £44.40 per hour inside IR35.

The role

This role is responsible for the development of manufacturing processes from concept through to commissioning and qualification. You must be able to demonstrate a proven capability in developing manufacturing processes including system integration.

  • Develop new manufacturing processes, in line with Engineering Plans and Budgets. Technical solutions and processes must be robust, timely, cost-effective and meet Customer expectations.
  • Ensure that manufacturing processes comply with industry standard controls that ensure long term process stability, including: Lean Principles, Process Control Plans, PFMEAs; plus awareness of Programmable Logic Controls and Visual Management Systems on automated process lines.
Knowledge & Skills
  • Have a good technical and manufacturing base, show initiative and be able to work under pressure.
  • Prioritise a constantly varying workload, in parallel with maintaining high quality standards and meeting deadlines.
  • Experience and demonstrated knowledge of materials processing.
  • In addition - Minimum HNC / HND Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Chemical, or equivalent.
