Job summary

A leading engineering firm is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to manage projects from customer enquiry to delivery. The ideal candidate will have an HNC qualification, a background in machining/fabrication, and excellent interpersonal skills. This is an on-site role based near Ilkeston, England, offering a competitive salary up to £50,000 and a comprehensive benefits package.

Overview

Role: Manufacturing Engineer

Location: near Ilkeston

Salary: Up to £50000

Hours: Monday to Thursday starting between 7am and 8am and finishing between 4pm and 5pm. Fridays finish at 12:00 midday.

Contracted hours: 39 per week

Holidays and Benefits: 33 days holiday, Xmas shut down, 7.5% pension, x4 salary death in service.

We now require an additional Manufacturing Engineer to join the team. Working in modern purpose-built manufacturing facilities for a company that manufacture precision engineered components.

You will be working in a first-class precision engineering environment that have processes such as machining, fabrication and a number of outsourced processes also.

As the Manufacturing Engineer you will be working in a technical role managing projects for the customer from customer enquiry, quotations to writing manufacturing methods/SOP's and delivery to the customer.

You will create manufacturing route cards to ensure the best methods to manufacture liaising with internal departments whilst also managing any external resources required for the project.

Qualifications
  • Qualified to HNC level.
  • Knowledge of processes such as - machining and/or fabrication.

  • Competence in Office particularly Excel, Word and Project.
  • Good working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems
  • Ability to read manufacturing drawings and specifications and break out the details and processes required for each operation required for manufacture.
  • Capable of working un-supervised and using own initiative.
  • Good eye for detail with a methodical approach to the task in hand.
