Qualifications

  • Experience in automotive manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Ability to deliver production, cost, and delivery improvements.

Job description

At Allied Vehicles we design, develop, and manufacture a wide range of specialist vehicles, including wheelchair accessible vehicles, taxis, and minibuses.

Manufacturing Engineer to join our operations department.

You will create, plan and implement production continuous improvement in line with the production targets and functional roadmap.

Hours of work are Monday to Wednesday, 7am-6pm and Thursday 7am-5.30pm and the salary is up to £45k DOE.

The main duties of the role are:
  • Develop and implement production continuous improvement plans
  • Support delivery of production targets
  • Implement process controls
  • Drive efficiencies and waste removal
  • Report on business KPI’s
  • Change management
  • Ownership of SOP’s, tools and fixtures
  • Manage and lead cross functional teams
  • Lead all functions in the production process
  • Train and install production methodology and approach
  • Present to all levels of the organisation
  • Follow a defined process
  • Complete all Company documentation where necessary
  • Collaborate with other staff to maintain a positive work environment
  • Follow all Health and Safety requirements and bring to management attention relevant matters
To be effective in this role, you will have:
  • Manufacturing Knowledge aligned to key principles of manufacturing engineering, continuous improvement and root cause corrective action
  • Proven experience in delivering continuous improvement within a manufacturing environment covering production, cost and delivery.
  • A degree in mechanical engineering or related subject
  • Black belt in Sig Sigma or equivalent lean practices

Previous experience of working in an automotive manufacturing environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
