Job summary

ARM is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a 12-month contract based in Bolton. The role requires experience in manufacturing engineering and SAP, with duties spanning instruction updates, tooling design, and process validation.

You will contribute to resolving manufacturing issues and ensuring updated manufacturing instructions align with design changes, while supporting non-conformance activities using SAP. This is a site-based opportunity in Bolton.

Qualifications

• Electrical or Mechanical Engineering background or related manufacturing qualification.
• L3 vocational qualification or NVQ accepted.
• Degree in engineering also acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Compile and update Manufacturing Instructions.
• Design, commissioning and proving of tooling.
• Support validation with FMEA/FAI processes.
• Resolve manufacturing issues during production.
• Manage changes to Manufacturing Instructions due to design modifications.
• Support Non-Conformance process using SAP.

Manufacturing Engineer

12 Month Contract

As the Manufacturing Engineer, you will be working alongside a market-leading defence and Aerospace company who are constantly growing and developing. You will be involved in:

• Compilation and update of Manufacturing Instructions.
• Design, Commissioning, and proving of associated tooling.
• Support the industrial validation process through the use of FMEA's, FAI's etc.
• Resolution of technical problems that may arise during the manufacturing process.
• Route card changes as a result or rework activities.
• Management of Configuration Control by the embodiment of Design Modifications into the Manufacturing Instructions.
• Support to the Non-Conformance Process using SAP.

Qualifications Required:

• Electrical or Mechanical Engineering / Manufacturing Apprenticeship (Advanced Level or L3 Standard)
• AND
• Electrical or Mechanical Engineering / Manufacturing Level 4 academic qualification (HNC, diploma, etc.)
• AND
• Electrical or Mechanical Engineering / Manufacturing Level 3 vocational qualification (NVQ) *Not required if a L3 apprenticeship standard has been achieved
• OR
• Degree in a relevant Engineering subject.

Your skillset may include:

• SAP experience
• The ability to interpret Design Drawings with a view to producing Manufacturing Build Instructions
• Experience in Electronic subassembly manufacture through to System level builds
• Experience and knowledge of the assembly process for small/miniature Electro-Mechanical Actuation Systems
• Manual handling training.
• ESD training.
