Job description

Manufacturing Electronics Engineer
Based on-site in Bolton

Salary Circa £45,000 | Bonus | 14% Pension | Paid Overtime

If you’re an electronics engineer who enjoys understanding how things really work, and you want to deepen your expertise in complex test systems, this is a strong next step.

You’ll join an experienced manufacturing engineering team supporting sophisticated electrical and electronic test equipment used in the build and test of advanced defence systems. The environment is structured, technically challenging and built around high standards.

In the role you will:
  • Calibrate and maintain electronic and electrical test equipment
  • Support Special to Type Test Equipment across DC to Microwave technologies
  • Carry out drift analysis, commissioning and fault finding
  • Diagnose and repair equipment down to component level
  • Work closely with manufacturing and engineering teams to resolve technical issues

This is not a narrow support role. You will gain exposure across the full product assembly, integration and test lifecycle, working on complex platforms rather than single isolated systems.

Development and progression

You will be part of an experienced team with a strong knowledge-sharing culture. Annual development reviews are used to identify opportunities to broaden your technical capability, whether that is deepening your understanding of calibration processes, expanding into new technologies, or mentoring more junior engineers.

The breadth of technologies provides genuine scope to strengthen your overall electronics expertise in a high-integrity environment.

What you’ll bring
  • HNC or HND qualified with relevant practical experience
  • Experience calibrating and maintaining electronic test systems
  • Strong fault-finding ability to component level
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation and specifications
  • Structured, analytical approach to problem solving

British citizenship is required for security clearance.

If you are looking for a technically serious environment where you can continue to develop as an electronics engineer, this would be worth discussing.
