Job Title: Manufacturing Controls Engineer
Location: Desford, Leicestershire
Shift: Afternoon Shift (Mon-Wed 16:30-02:30, Thu 16:30-02:00)
Salary: Base rate of £32.82 p/hour + 20% shift hours
Contract: 18 months (Likely to extend)

Are you an experienced Controls Engineer with strong Siemens PLC expertise?
This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly skilled, supportive engineering team where you will help drive the reliability and performance of production systems across a busy manufacturing environment. Working within a 7-person shift team, you will play a key role in diagnosing issues, uplifting legacy control systems, and ensuring safe and efficient operations across automated assembly and manufacturing assets.

What You'll Do
  • Diagnose and resolve production issues using Siemens PLC/HMI software.
  • Uplift and standardise legacy assets using Siemens and Mitsubishi PLC software.
  • Support maintenance teams with fault-finding and systems troubleshooting.
  • Deliver safe and compliant improvements to automated equipment and processes.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure effective system performance.
What We're Looking For
  • Strong background in systems diagnostics, fault finding, and controls troubleshooting.
  • Hands‑on experience with Siemens PLC/HMI (S7 essential).
  • Experience upgrading or standardising assets using Siemens/Mitsubishi PLC platforms.
  • Ideally from a maintenance or automation engineering environment.
  • Automotive or complex production/assembly experience highly advantageous.
