Position Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Manufacturing Capability Manager to join our team. In this role, you will lead the programme to uplift capability across people, processes and systems within our global Civil Aerospace footprint. You will collaborate across the enterprise to share best practice, drive functional excellence and support our ambition to deliver operational excellence.

This is a varied and impactful role where no two days are the same — from developing training for Production Leaders, coaching frontline teams, supporting induction programmes, designing leadership pipelines, refining core processes, and benchmarking against world-class organisations to help us deliver our vision.

Your background in operational leadership will be essential in enabling you to design and deliver learning interventions, as well as embed improved processes and systems across our operations.

What you will be doing:
  • Leading the manufacturing capability roadmap to deliver enhanced leadership capability, talent pipelines, systems and processes.
  • Supporting the delivery of a refreshed Production System, coaching the organisation and business leaders on its principles and benefits.
  • Coordinating the Manufacturing Operations “Pride in Our Factories” transformation workstream, ensuring our sites reflect best-in‑class operational standards.
  • Acting as the primary contact for management system processes (Aris) in relation to Produce Solution on behalf of Civil Aerospace.
  • Championing activities within the Lean Roadmap to help deliver a Lean Enterprise and demonstrating strong lean leadership behaviours.
Position Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in operational line leadership with strong understanding of manufacturing environments.
  • Demonstrable track record of successfully delivering programmes in both favourable and challenging conditions using cross-functional teams.
  • Strong integration skills with a delivery-focused mindset and the ability to influence managers and senior leaders.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to coach, develop and support talent.
  • Good understanding of Manufacturing Business Processes and the Rolls‑Royce Production System.
  • Passion for learning, development and training, with strong business acumen and broad enterprise awareness.
  • Experience deploying operational excellence and lean tools.
Preferred Requirements:

Experience designing and delivering training and development programmes.

  • Knowledge of continuous improvement, including Lean, Six Sigma or similar methodologies.
  • Ability to analyse capability gaps, identify improvement opportunities and drive sustainable change.
  • Exposure to programme or change management processes, including scoping, planning, progress tracking and stakeholder engagement.
  • Understanding of process documentation, process councils and enterprise process governance frameworks.
