Job summary

A leading engineering consultancy in Manchester is seeking a Manufacturer Business Consultant to lead ERP system implementations. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in manufacturing, strong communication skills, and user experience with various ERP systems. This role requires travel to client sites across the UK and offers opportunities for personal and professional growth within a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

  • Solid experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally as a Production Planner or similar.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and business flows.
  • Willing to travel to customer sites across the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation of the ERP system from start to finish.
  • Advise clients on optimal usage of their purchasing, planning, and logistics processes.

The position :

For our client, we are looking for a Manufacturer Business Consultant located in Manchester.

About the business :

The business is an award-winning market leader in ERP systems. They have offices in multiple countries and are looking to expand to the UK.

What you will be doing :

In this Business Consultant position, you will lead the implementation of the ERP system from start to finish, as well as advise clients on updates and optimal usage of their purchasing, planning, production, and logistics processes, while supporting successful ERP implementations.

Who you are :
  • Solid experience in a manufacturing environment—production planning / scheduling, materials planning, and inventory control; ideally worked as a Production Planner, Materials Planner, Supply Chain Analyst, Production Controller, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and business flows
  • User experience with ERP or MRP systems (e.g. Dynamics, NetSuite, IFS, Infor, Epicor or similar)
  • Knowledge or practical experience applying Lean / Kaizen / Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt) is a plus.
  • Willing to travel to customer sites across the UK as project needs dictate.
  • Strong communication and training skills

  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken (other European languages are a plus)
