Manual / XYZ Hurco Turner

Wimborne | £15.26 per hour | Temporary Contract

TeamJobs is currently recruiting for an experienced Manual / XYZ / Hurco Turner to join a well-established precision engineering company based in Wimborne. This is a temporary assignment, ideal for an experienced Turner looking for steady work in a professional manufacturing environment.

Working Hours (39 hours per week)

  • Monday - Thursday: 07:30 - 16:45
  • Friday: 07:30 - 12:30
  • 45 minutes unpaid lunch break (Mon-Thurs)
  • Early finish every Friday
The Role

You will be responsible for setting, programming and operating XYZ and Hurco lathes, producing high-quality components to tight tolerances. This is a hands‑on role requiring strong manual turning skills and the ability to work from engineering drawings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Setting and operating XYZ lathes (ProtoTRAK)
  • Setting and operating Hurco lathes (WinMax)
  • Manual turning to tight tolerances
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
  • Selecting tools, speeds and feeds
  • Carrying out in-process inspections
  • Maintaining quality and production records
  • Working safely and following H&S procedures
What We are Looking For
  • Time‑served Turner or NVQ Level 3 / Apprenticeship in Engineering
  • Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Strong manual turning background
  • Confident using measuring equipment
  • Experience machining steel, aluminium and similar materials
  • XYZ / Hurco experience highly desirable
