Team Leader (Mandarin Speaking)

16:00-00:30 Flexible Days Off

Reports to: Immediate Supervisor

Job Outline

Responsible for planning and organising warehouse activities efficiently and safely. Motivating and inspiring employees by “leading by example”. Ensuring that the team complies with legislation and company standards, by providing a high level of customer service at all times.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
Warehouse Management
  • Managing the daily work plan.
  • Adherence to stock management systems.
  • Responsible for stock management, ensuring that missing and stolen items are investigated swiftly and remedial actions are in place to prevent further loss.
  • Manage and organise daily picking requirements.
  • Supervise picking and checking process for accuracy and to ensure customers order fulfilled.
  • Assist in employee training, development and engagement.
  • Plan and organise warehouse activities and delegate appropriate tasks to ensure maximum efficiency is obtained.
  • Identify areas for improvements and implement changes where appropriate e.g. ensure stock is stored in the most appropriate location.
People Management
  • Induct new staff efficiently and effectively, so that they quickly fit into the team.
  • Ensure effective communication channels are established and maintained to improve teamwork, motivation and commitment.
  • Monitor staff performance against objectives and initiate actions to address shortfalls.
  • Monitor activities to ensure each person has the adequate skills and competence to achieve job requirements.
  • Identify and raise staff training needs.
  • Motivate and coach staff to assist them in achieving their long-term goals at 4PX
  • Conduct regular team briefings.
Customer Service
  • Responsible for resolving issues with orders and customer deliveries
  • Ensure staff provide internal and external customers with a high level of service.
Health and Safety
  • Ensure that the team comply with legislation and company policies and procedures
  • Raise issues that may impinge on health and safety requirements and ensure they are rectified immediately.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents and generate reports
  • Ensure that the warehouse space is kept tidy and free from hazards.
  • Any other duties as required, appropriate to the level and skills of the post holder.
Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge & Experience required for role
Essential
  • Experience of leading a team in a warehousing and logistics environment.
  • Excellent people management and communication skills
  • Drive for creating a safe working environment.
  • Effective problem solver with ability to implement continuous improvement systems.
  • Knowledge and operation of WMS systems.
  • Good level of IT skills.
Desirable
  • Knowledge and experience of Health and Safety, preferably IOSH standard.
