Long established building contractor who have a large pipeline of work urgently require a Managing Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager for their busy office in SE London.

The company, predominantly build apartment blocks for Local Authorities and Residential Providers. The apartments are RC blocks to an affordable specification and built throughout London and Greater London. The buildings will typically range from 8–18 storeys, and all works are won through competitive tendering and bidding, in which they are very successful given the pipeline. They are a building contractor operating on tight margins and require someone who is familiar with this setup.

The ideal candidate will be time served as a quantity surveyor, having progressed through Assistant/Intermediate/Senior levels and now be in a Managing Quantity Surveying / Commercial Manager role or ready to take the official step up, already being responsible for a number of subordinates. The successful candidate will also have extensive experience working for a medium-sized main contractor and understand the tight margins these companies operate under.

This is an exciting role for the right individual, offering a rewarding and interesting mix of projects. Reporting to the Managing Director, the role has progressive opportunities to become Commercial Director and to contribute to shaping the company’s commercial structure moving forward.
