Job summary

Bimplus, a leading integrated design and build solutions provider in the water sector, is seeking a Commercial Manager to lead the commercial delivery teams and core functions.

You will report to the Commercial Manager, drive forecasts, protect fees, negotiate with clients and subcontractors, and support procurement to ensure value for money. The role requires NEC3/IChemE experience and senior management background, with the possibility of hybrid UK-based work and a car allowance.

Qualifications

  • Degree qualified or equivalent in quantity surveying or related discipline.
  • Experience in utilities/civil engineering/MEICA sectors.
  • NEC3/IChemE experience.
  • Experience at senior management level with leadership qualities.
  • Proficient in contract management and risk assessment.
  • Experience of managing and developing an individual or small team.
  • Experience of managing a portfolio of works with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Commercial management to drive commercial excellence into project delivery, ensuring accuracy of forecasts and protection of fee at all times.
  • Develop and foster relationships with client and subcontractors to aid delivery and contract negotiation.
  • Provide commercial support to procurement team ensuring value for money.
  • Negotiate with client ensuring adherence to governance.
  • Collaborative work with the client to ensure business requirements are met.
  • Undertake approvals and other processes.
  • Deputise for the Commercial Manager as required.
  • Assist in the management and development of junior commercial staff.

Job description

Location: Hampton or Rickmansworth with hybrid working available

Salary: £80k – 90k (Neg DOE), car allowance and excellent benefits package or £(Apply online only) per day inside IR35

Our Client: Is an integrated design and build solution provider operating in the water sector. They have over 1,400 staff working across eight regional centres, primarily supporting six long term water sector frameworks operating both on their own and increasingly in joint ventures and alliances.

The Role: You will report directly to the Commercial Manager and you will be expected to provide leadership and management to the commercial delivery teams and core team commercial functions for our client's business.

Responsibilities: Commercial management to drive commercial excellence into project delivery ensuring accuracy of forecasts and protection of fee at all times.

Develop and foster relationships with client and subcontractors alike to aide delivery and contract negotiation

Provide commercial support to procurement team ensuring at all time value for money

Negotiate with client ensuring adherence to our client's governance

Continuous review of commercial resource levels playing an active part in recruitment to ensure effective and efficient delivery

Support the Commercial Manager in providing contractual and commercial training to all staff in the region.

Support the Commercial Manager in review and continuous development of commercial processes and procedures

Undertake approvals and other processes.

Deputise for the Commercial Manager as and when required.

Assist in the management and development of junior commercial staff

Collaborative work with the client to ensure business requirements are met

Degree qualified or equivalent in quantity surveying or related discipline

Experience in utilities/civil engineering/MEICA sectors

NEC3/IChemE experience. Experience of managing commercial teams

Extensive commercial experience within a contracting environment.

Experience at senior management level, with ability to demonstrate leadership qualities that promote an environment for excellence

Proficient in contract management and risk assessment.

Experience & knowledge of IT reporting systems

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously

Working towards or have chartered membership of a recognised institution

Experience of managing and developing an individual or small team

Experience of managing a portfolio of works with multiple stakeholders
