The Lift and Escalator Industry Association (LEIA) represents around 85% of the UK lift and escalator sector, serving as the driving force behind safety, standards, innovation, and professional development across one of the country’s most essential industries.

We are now seeking an exceptional Managing Director to lead LEIA into its next chapter — influencing policy at both national and European level, advancing technical excellence, and continuing to strengthen the services that support and empower our members.

This is a rare and prestigious leadership opportunity to shape the voice of a vital UK industry and make a lasting impact on safety, training, and governance.

About the Role

The Managing Director will:

  • Provide visionary leadership to the LEIA Board and membership
  • Represent members’ interests to government, regulators, and industry bodies
  • Drive excellence across governance, technical guidance, training, and member services
  • Oversee the LIFTEX exhibition and education programs
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team while ensuring financial sustainability
About You

You are a confident and strategic senior leader with:

  • Proven experience in governance, financial management, and stakeholder engagement
  • The ability to inspire, influence, and represent the industry at the highest levels
  • A collaborative mindset and a passion for promoting safety, quality, and innovation
  • Experience within trade associations, professional bodies, or regulated environments would be advantageous.
