Managing Associate – Fund Finance – Bristol – 6+ Years PQE

Location: Bristol

Type of Role: Permanent, Full‑time (with hybrid flexibility)

Salary: £95,000 to £120,000 (depending on experience)

A leading international law firm is seeking a Managing Associate (6+ PQE) to join its market‑leading Funds Finance practice in Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity to work on complex, high‑profile transactions across a wide range of asset classes, acting for both lenders and sponsors/borrowers.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for advising financial institutions, alternative lenders, funds, and sponsors on a variety of financings, including:

  • Capital call facilities
  • NAV facilities
  • Hybrid facilities
  • GP/co‑invest facilities
  • SMA facilities across private equity, debt, credit, real estate, and infrastructure funds

You will also work closely with fund structures and partnership documents, collaborating with colleagues in a friendly, collegiate environment.

Candidate Requirements

This role is suited to a qualified solicitor with:

  • 6+ years PQE in funds finance, ideally gained at an international or leading regional firm
  • Experience acting for both lenders and sponsors/borrowers
  • Strong technical and drafting skills, with excellent academics
  • Commercial awareness and a client‑focused approach
  • Confidence in managing complex transactions independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to contribute to marketing and business‑development initiatives

Development Programme

Managing Associates benefit from a structured MA Development Programme designed to support progression towards partnership. The programme focuses on three core leadership capabilities:

Participants progress through four stages, from transitioning into the MA role to delivering on business plans and demonstrating readiness for partnership. The programme includes monthly skills sessions, opportunities to work from other offices or client locations, and sponsor support for career development.
