Job summary

A growing consulting firm based in Greater London is seeking an experienced consultant to lead trade advisory projects. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years in consulting and detailed knowledge of customs and trade policies. Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in consulting.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in international trade management.
  • Detailed knowledge of customs, trade controls, and policy.

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Strong client relationship management.
  • Pragmatic and commercially focused approach.
  • Excellent IT skills (slides, spreadsheets, webinars, social media).

Summary

You will bring experience of consulting, with detailed knowledge of customs, export controls, policy and associated trade disciplines.

Responsibilities

You will work closely with our Directors to build relationships, manage projects and support clients across a variety of sectors and geographies.

Your primary responsibilities will be to

  • Manage and lead trade advisory projects
  • Advise clients on export controls, customs and evolving trade policy
  • Deliver advice, audits & training on trade & supply chain operations
  • Build trusted, long-term relationships with clients and partners
  • Maintain understanding of international trade developments
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities
  • Contribute to thought leadership, insights and commentary
Qualifications and Skills

We are looking for intelligence, experience, interest and initiative.

Essential
  • Min 5+ years of experience in consulting
  • Min 7+ years of experience of international trade management
  • Detailed knowledge of customs, trade controls and policy
  • Strong project management skills
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills

Desirable
  • Qualifications in trade compliance or customs
  • Experience with UK, US ITAR / EAR and other trade control regimes
  • Experience with customs processes, duty management, tariff modelling
  • Familiarity with EU, US, APAC or other markets
