Position Description Summary

The Manager R&D Data Stewardship supports the implementation of data stewardship activities by maintaining data standards, monitoring data quality, and managing stewardship tools and documentation. Works closely with data owners, IT, and scientific teams to ensure consistent application of data quality rules and high‑quality data management practices.

Main Responsibilities
  • Maintain and update data dictionaries, metadata repositories, and data management documentation.
  • Perform data curation and wrangling activities to deliver accurate, standardised, and metadata enriched data for downstream scientific/data science analytics or integration into data platforms.
  • Resolve data issues, discrepancies and prevent duplication or corruption.
  • Perform regular data quality checks, track issues and support remediation efforts.
  • Curate metadata and business glossaries to make data meaningful and discoverable.
  • Provide training and guidance on data management best practices.
  • Provide end‑user support for data management tools (e.g., central data repositories, metadata catalogue, data quality dashboards).
  • Collaborate with IT and data owners to ensure smooth integration of data management practices into data platforms and scientific systems.
  • Contribute to process improvements by identifying opportunities for enhanced data quality or efficiency.
Qualification
  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Information Sciences or related field.
  • 4‑6 years of experience in biomedical R&D data management or related roles.
  • Experience managing data across Research, Clinical, Safety, and/or Regulatory domains.
  • Understanding of FAIR data principles and regulatory requirements.
  • Understanding of data quality concepts and metadata management and governance principles.
  • Experience working with data and scientific platforms and basic data analysis tools.
  • Strong attention to detail, documentation and communication skills.
