A global aviation association is seeking an experienced professional to enhance customer relationships and promote industry interests. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience, including at least 5 years in aviation. Responsibilities include supporting advocacy efforts, identifying new business opportunities, and promoting the organization at various events. About the team you are joining
Reporting to
the Area Manager, this role is responsible for promoting and enhancing IATA’s
reach in the market with our existing customers, members, agents and other
potential customers of our services and products. Building stakeholder
relationships and a network of contacts this person will promote IATA and
implement our Board priorities, as
well as manage relationships securing us opportunities for new and expanded
commercial relationships because of their deep knowledge of the sector and
IATA’s proposition. Able to monitor and
react to market developments.
Support the Area Manager in advocating industry positions to national governments and regulatory authorities as appropriate and defined by the subject matter experts and advisory bodies in IATA;
Execute a strategy to identify opportunities with both existing and potential new customers (products, services, agents, airports and airlines) and deliver outcomes through these relationships to enhance customer service and improvement in engagement with IATA;
Foster meaningful relationships with both member and non-Member airlines in the countries assigned and make them aware of the services and products IATA can offer to them and identify their pain points to allow future relationships to be built around aligned objectives;
Monitor the market and our customer profiles, identify trends and behaviours that will impact aviation, airline business and travel in the assigned countries;
Build a network of stakeholders across the agents sector that allow IATA to continue to lead airline retailing and modernization capabilities and support our members’ transition;
Provide an expert voice and leadership in promoting modern airline retailing, payment and distribution capabilities and industry interests in external environments;
Promote IATA at exhibitions and trade shows, represent IATA in meetings and provide briefings as needed, educating stakeholders on our positions, Board priorities and services and products, at all times in a professional, dedicated, customer-focused way;
Work together with our global and regional teams to best serve our customer needs by identifying new and enhanced IATA services that would benefit them; and any other tasks assigned by the Area Manager.
A University degree in aviation, management, economics or other relevant discipline;
10 years or more of professional experience and at least 5 years in a similar role / aviation industry;
Ability work under pressure and as a self starter, outgoing personality with a ‘can do’ attitude;
Outstanding interpersonal, social and communication skills and ability to work in complex cross-cultural environments while building effective relationships;
Excellent PC skills, particularity with MS Office Programs (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) and familiarity with databases and a CRM tool such as ;
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English; ability to speak confidently and with authority on a known topic, knowledge of any other relevant languages would be an asset.
