About the team you are joining

Reporting to the Area Manager, this role is responsible for promoting and enhancing IATA’s reach in the market with our existing customers, members, agents, and other potential customers of our services and products.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the Area Manager in advocating industry positions to national governments and regulatory authorities.
  • Executing a strategy to identify opportunities with both existing and potential new customers and delivering outcomes through these relationships.
  • Fostering meaningful relationships with both member and non-Member airlines in the assigned countries.
  • Monitoring the market and customer profiles, identifying trends and behaviors that will impact aviation, airline business, and travel.
  • Building a network of stakeholders across the agents sector to allow IATA to continue to lead airline retailing and modernization capabilities.
  • Providing an expert voice and leadership in promoting modern airline retailing, payment, and distribution capabilities and industry interests in external environments.
  • Representing IATA in meetings, providing briefings as needed, and educating stakeholders on our positions, Board priorities, and services and products.

Requirements:

  • A University degree in aviation, management, economics, or other relevant discipline.
  • 10 years or more of professional experience and at least 5 years in a similar role / aviation industry.
  • Ability to work under pressure and as a self-starter, with an outgoing personality and a ‘can do’ attitude.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, social, and communication skills, with the ability to work in complex cross-cultural environments while building effective relationships.
  • Excellent PC skills, particularly with MS Office Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), and familiarity with databases and a CRM tool such as Salesforce.com.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, with the ability to speak confidently and with authority on a known topic.

Travel is required for this role.
