WE ARE LOOKING FOR

an inspirational and dedicated person, with a real sense of humour, who can supervise, interact with, and back‑up our experienced and close‑knit team: someone with strong operational experience, a clear strategic thinker, and an effective and empathetic communicator: someone with an understanding of, and interest in history, culture, education and the natural environment, and concern for the balance between managing conservation and public access.

ESSENTIALS

able to live on site, excellent communication skills, interest in educational and cultural activities, ability to work long and flexible hours, teamwork skills, good IT skills, basic accounting understanding, and the skill to ‘manage’!

ABOUT HELLENS

set in the rural landscape of Herefordshire between the Wye Valley and the Malvern Hills conservation areas, Hellens, with its gardens and woodlands, is a dearly loved Tudor/Jacobean home with an incredible tapestry of stories, and an historic collection of artefacts, goods and chattels belonging to the characters who have lived here over the centuries. Hellens, a thousand year old site, houses an important collection of art, and has a full calendar of diverse cultural and educational events.

VISITING

for guided tours from April to October, along with our tearoom, and for educational and cultural events through most of the year. Everyone who lives and works here is encouraged to be creative, curious and engaged. The same is true for all who visit us. In all our activities, we strive to both respect and celebrate the legacy of this beautiful home, while looking to the future in ways that are green and collaborative. We are not a museum!
