About your team

The Global Mandate Services (GMS) team supports the implementation and change management of segregated mandates and investment advisory solutions across institutional clients globally. This includes implementation of new clients and custodians, managing custodian or client‑led or regulatory change, internal strategic initiatives, and enhancing operational delivery frameworks. The team plays a critical role in supporting discretionary portfolio management and advisory services and collaborates closely with internal stakeholders including Sales, Investment Management, Asset Management Operations, Client Services, and third‑party providers.

About your role

As part of the Global Mandate Services implementation team, this role will report to the Manager of GMS Implementation. This will include day‑to‑day management of the pipeline of activity across mandate implementation.

The team is responsible for institutional and wholesale sub‑advisory mandate (collectively “institutional”), mandate implementation.

Focused on discretionary portfolio management (segregated mandate) and investment advisory services, the role will have central responsibility for delivery and quality assurance across the scope of activity.

The successful candidate will act as a key partner to the sales teams to help drive delivery of client onboarding activity, and effectively manage the risks across client management. The role will also require interactions with the range of internal partner functions that are critical to support onboarding and implementation activity.

The focus will be on Asia Pacific and EMEA clients. The role will be based in London.

About you

The Successful candidate will take accountability to manage the new client and custodian implementation, as well as act as key escalation point for complex change and query resolution.

Project & Change Management
  • Own and manage end‑to‑end mandate implementation for our institutional client mandates.
  • Maintain and track comprehensive project plans, identifying risks and escalating issues as necessary.
  • Act as a key escalation point for complex issues and query resolution.
  • Plan and lead regular project governance forums and client/custodian meetings.
Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership
  • Act as a key partner to global Sales teams, engaging at the opportunity stage to assess potential future mandates.
  • Coordinate internal resources to design and deliver solutions for bespoke client requirements.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including Investment Management, Risk, Compliance, and Operations.
  • Represent the GMS team in cross‑functional governance forums and external client discussions when required.
Operational Excellence & Risk Management
  • Ensure robust management for all client mandates implementations, with a strong focus on risk mitigation, control processes, and quality assurance.
  • Oversee and drive improvements to operating models, including risk controls and reporting.
  • Engage with custodians, vendors, and platform providers to ensure readiness ahead of go‑live dates.
  • Work closely with Client onboarding managers to capture and fulfil client expectations.
Team Management & Development
  • Support production of Management Information (MI), governance reporting.
  • Contribute to continuous process improvement and innovation across GMS functions.
Desirable Experience and Qualifications
Experience & Knowledge
  • Proven experience in operational implementation, including coordination with custodians and investment operations teams.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of SWIFT messaging standards and experience managing trade, cash, and custody connectivity.
  • Knowledge of Custodian platforms, and familiarity with account onboarding, SSI setup, and connectivity testing with global custodians such as State Street, Northern Trust, BNY Mellon, or JP Morgan.
