About the Role

The EY Financial Services AI & Data team is continuing to grow and develop unique advisory propositions aligned to market needs and demand. We are currently seeking outstanding Data Architects and Modelers (Managers) with strong experience in AI and Data solution design and implementation within the London Market Commercial & Specialty Insurance domain to join our team and contribute to our ongoing growth and success on a global scale. Your key responsibilities
  • Work as part of a delivery team on complex Data Transformation programs, primarily leading on data architecture and data modelling, with additional roles likely to include leading on business analysis, data strategy and solution design
  • Lead Data Modelling Activities: Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models for core insurance domains (e.g., Policy, Premiums, Claims, Risk, Bordereaux) aligned to Lloyd's CDR and Accord data standards.
  • Blueprint Two Alignment: Interpret Lloyd's CDR specifications to design data structures that support consistent capture, storage, and exchange of data across the insurance value chain.
  • Foundation for Transformation: Establish data modelling standards and principles, naming conventions, and metadata standards, design patterns as the basis for the upcoming data transformation programme.
  • Business Engagement: Collaborate with business SMEs from underwriting, claims teams, operations, and finance to capture requirements, resolve data definitions, and validate models.
  • Data Quality & Governance: Define master data and reference data structures to ensure completeness, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
  • Tooling & Standards: Leverage data modelling tools (e.g., ERwin, PowerDesigner, SQL Data Modeler, etc.) and maintain modelling repositories.
  • Collaborate with enterprise architects, solution designers, and data platform teams to embed data models into the technology landscape.
  • Contribute to client proposals, RFP responses, and thought leadership related to data strategy, data architecture and data transformation initiatives.

We're looking for people with a passion for the delivery of data technology solutions that deliver positive outcomes for customers, regulators and shareholders. You should advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Qualifications
  • Proven experience in data modelling within London Market Commercial and Specialty Insurance markets. Strong understanding of Lloyd's market operations, London Market processes, Core Data Record specifications.
  • Expertise in building conceptual, logical, and physical data models for core insurance entities and processes.
  • Understanding of different Data Modelling approaches – i.e. relational data model, 3rd normal form, Dimensional data model, Star /Snowflake Schema, Data Vault etc.
  • Good understanding of Data Warehousing design concepts (e.g., Inmon & Kimbal style of data architectures).
  • Experience translating regulatory and market standards into practical, implementable data structures.
  • Knowledge of insurance reference data (e.g., class of business codes, market participant codes, currency codes).
  • Familiarity with relational database design and dimensional modelling principles for reporting/analytics.
  • Proficiency with one or more data modelling tools (e.g., ERwin, PowerDesigner, SQL Developer Data Modeler).
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills.
