The Team

The Sites and Civils team is responsible for ensuring our SMR technology can be successfully deployed across a range of customer sites and operating environments. Working at the forefront of civil engineering, design integration and nuclear infrastructure development, the team plays a critical role in translating our standard plant design into site‑specific solutions for customers around the world.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Manager - Civil & Structural to support the Head of Sites and Civils and lead the development of civil and structural engineering solutions for our first Vattenfall site‑specific project.

Managing a growing team of approximately 10-15 engineers, secondees and supply chain partners, this is a significant leadership opportunity that will help shape the successful delivery of one of the most important programmes within Rolls‑Royce SMR.

We'll Need You To
  • Leading and developing the site‑specific Civil & Structural team, ensuring the successful delivery of a fully integrated power station design across the programme lifecycle
  • Providing technical and people leadership across all civil engineering structures, systems and components, driving delivery against programme, cost, quality and performance objectives

  • Mentoring and coaching engineers, fostering a collaborative and inclusive team culture which prioritises wellbeing, development and continuous improvement
  • Supporting the wider Vattenfall Design Management Team, contributing to programme governance, delivery planning and strategic decision making
  • Engaging with customers, regulators, statutory authorities, utility providers and external stakeholders to support project development, planning, permitting and delivery activities
  • Providing wider engineering support to business development opportunities and prospective customer engagements as required
Why this role?

This is a high‑profile leadership position at the heart of a first‑of‑a‑kind deployment programme. • Experience implementing new ways of working, driving continuous improvement and developing high‑performing teams through coaching, mentoring and inclusive leadership
  • Knowledge of planning, permitting, regulatory engagement, utility interfaces and interactions with statutory authorities would be advantageous
