Job summary

KPMG is seeking a Senior Manager for its Corporate Tax Advisory and Compliance (CTAC) team. The role is based in London CSQ with possible options in Watford, Milton Keynes, or Cambridge, and a flexible hybrid working pattern within the UK.

You will lead complex advisory projects, develop client relationships, coach junior staff, and contribute to market growth while collaborating across KPMG’s global network to deliver integrated tax solutions.

Qualifications

  • ACA, CA, CTA, ACCA or equivalent qualification, complemented by strong corporate tax and accounting knowledge.
  • Proven ability to develop, coach, and lead staff, fostering a high-performance team culture, alongside effectively managing senior stakeholders.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, coupled with strong oral and written communication abilities, enabling effective client engagement and successful collaboration across teams.
  • Well-developed analytical skills and a sharp commercial acumen, allowing you to resolve complex issues and provide pragmatic, value-added advice.

Responsibilities

  • Client Leadership: Develop and nurture strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor who understands their commercial objectives and delivers strategic tax advice that directly contributes to their growth and success.
  • Project Delivery: Lead the successful delivery of technically complex advisory projects, including tax structuring, refinancing, legal structure optimisation, pre/post transaction reorganisations, and managing tax authority enquiries.
  • Team Development: Take ownership of coaching, developing, and inspiring more junior members of the team, fostering their technical skills and accelerating their career growth within KPMG.
  • Business Development: Actively seek out and pursue new business opportunities, collaborating with Directors and Partners to expand our market presence and deliver innovative solutions for client issues, including managing tender processes and client pitches.
  • Operational Excellence: Contribute to the strategic direction and operational efficiency of the CTAC team, including effective resource planning and performance management.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Liaise with specialists across various departments and KPMG's global network to deliver comprehensive, multidisciplinary tax advisory projects.
