Job description

Step into Learning is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented MIS Lead to join our fast-paced, values-driven organisation. This is a pivotal role responsible for leading management information systems, ensuring data integrity, and overseeing funding compliance, contract monitoring, and internal audits.

Tasks

As MIS Lead, you will ensure that all learner data and funding returns are accurate, compliant, and submitted on time, supporting both operational delivery and strategic decision-making. You will also act as the organisation’s Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead and lead internal ISO audits, ensuring continuous improvement and audit readiness.

This role offers the opportunity to work across multiple areas of compliance, reporting, and funding, liaising with senior leaders, trustees, local authorities, and regulators. You will play a key part in maintaining high-quality data standards, supporting organisational growth, and shaping robust processes that underpin Step into Learning’s mission.

Key qualification, skills and experience

Success in this role will be measured by the effective delivery of key priorities, objectives, and targets set by the organisation. This includes:

  • Accurate and timely ILR and funding submissions with minimal errors.
  • Compliance with DfE, local authority, ISO, and audit requirements.
  • Successful completion of internal ISO audits and strong outcomes in external ISO reviews.
  • High-quality data that supports strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Strong organisational audit readiness, particularly for DfE external funding audits.
  • Effective reporting to the Executive Director, senior leaders, and Trustees.
  • Positive relationships with regulators, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Active participation in organisational development and improvement initiatives.
