Aston Charles Ltd, on behalf of a global financial services consultancy, seeks an experienced Management Consulting Manager in General Insurance to join the London practice. You will lead engagements for insurers, brokers and other organisations, delivering strategic initiatives with responsibility and visibility early in your career.

The role features smaller teams, direct exposure to senior stakeholders, and active contribution to the growth of the practice.

Qualifications

• Must be operating at Manager level within a management consultancy (General Insurance).
• Experience leading consulting projects and managing project teams.
• Exposure to underwriting, distribution strategy, claims transformation, or insurance transformation initiatives.
• Strong client-facing and stakeholder-management skills.

Our client is a highly regarded global financial services consultancy with a growing General Insurance & Specialty practice. The business has grown by approximately 20% year-on-year for each of the last two years, is actively acquiring complementary businesses and has ambitious plans to double in size over the coming years.

The role

You'll join the London General Insurance & Specialty team, working as part of a much larger global consulting business.

As a Manager, you'll lead consulting engagements for major insurers, brokers and other organisations across the insurance market. Projects are varied and strategic and could include areas such as:

• Underwriting and distribution strategy
• Claims transformation
• Business and operational transformation
• Broking and distribution
• Technology and data-enabled transformation
• Process and operating model improvement
• Cost optimisation and wider strategic change

You'll manage project teams, structure and oversee client deliverables, facilitate workshops, manage senior stakeholders and mentor more junior consultants.

You'll also be encouraged to think commercially: identifying opportunities, developing client relationships and contributing ideas to the continued growth of the practice.

Who are we looking for?

There is one particularly important requirement for this position:

You must already be operating at Manager level within a management consultancy.

This isn't intended as a first move into consulting from an insurer, nor is it a step-up opportunity for someone who has only worked internally on change programmes. The client is specifically looking for an experienced consulting Manager who understands how to structure and deliver strategic consulting engagements for clients.

You'll ideally bring:

• Strong management consulting experience within General Insurance
• Experience leading consulting projects and managing project teams
• Exposure to areas such as underwriting, distribution strategy, claims transformation, Target Operating Models or wider insurance transformation
• Strong client-facing and stakeholder-management skills
• Experience coaching and developing junior consultants
• Commercial awareness and an interest in contributing to business development
• The confidence to operate with senior insurance stakeholders
• An entrepreneurial mindset and a desire to help build and grow a consulting practice
