Job description

Are you interested in joining one of the top Universities in Greater Manchester for student experience?

Here at the University of Greater Manchester, we are proud of our growing reputation as a student-focused University. With our strategy of “Teaching Intensive, Research-Informed Assessment Enabled”, we are committed to offering our students the best experience possible.

Due to our ongoing growth, we are now looking for an enthusiastic individual who will work well in a busy and varied Finance Department.

As a member of the Finance team, you will work closely with academic and professional colleagues across the University to deliver accurate and timely financial information and advice. The role involves a wide range of activities, including budget setting, forecasting, project accounting, and the investigation and resolution of financial queries, ensuring that all financial data is complete, accurate, and recorded in accordance with agreed coding structures and financial controls.

You need to be someone who can work as part of a team as well as be self‑motivated and able to manage your own workload. Strong attention to detail and confidence in using spreadsheets and finance systems are important for the role. We also want someone who takes pride in offering an exceptional service to both staff and students.

We ask a lot from our staff, but in return, you will receive a competitive benefits package, including access to the Local Government Pension Scheme, an employee benefits scheme and generous annual leave entitlement.

As a small University, you will have opportunities to work with colleagues across the campus to support and deliver the best student experience possible.
