The successful candidate will prepare monthly management accounts, develop financial models, and provide insights to budget holders. A fully qualified accountant is preferred, ideally with charity accounting experience. This permanent hybrid role includes occasional travel to central London.

A leading sustainable development organisation is seeking a Management Accountant to play a pivotal role in supporting financial decision-making, ensuring sustainability, and enabling the delivery of projects that link local priorities to global challenges.

The key duties of this Management Accountant will be:

  • Preparing monthly management accounts with variance analysis and insightful commentary for senior management.
  • Developing and maintaining financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making.
  • Supporting the refinement of the cost recovery model to ensure indirect and overhead costs are fully recovered.
  • Partnering with operational budget holders to provide financial insights, manage budgets effectively, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Leading the development and tracking of financial performance metrics (KPIs).
  • Ensuring robust financial controls, compliance with policies, and readiness for internal and external audits.
  • Maintaining and optimising financial systems for efficient and accurate reporting.

The successful candidate will be:

  • A fully qualified accountant or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience.
  • Experienced in the end-to-end production of monthly management accounts.
  • Ideally, experienced in charity accounting.
  • Skilled in budget setting, forecasting and process improvements.
  • Comfortable communicating complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.

This is a permanent role offered on a hybrid working basis, with only occasional travel (just a few days per month) required to their office in central London
