Job summary

New Avenues is seeking a Management Accountant to take ownership of the day-to-day financial management of the concerts division in a vibrant music and live events business. You will report to the Head of Finance and join a creative, fast-moving team in Brighton.

The role focuses on month-end, P&Ls, and financial insight to support commercial and operational decisions, with strong emphasis on process improvement and collaboration across departments.

Qualifications

• Previous experience producing management accounts and delivering month-end processes.
• Experience in music, live events, entertainment or hospitality is advantageous.
• Strong communication and ability to present financial information to non-finance colleagues.
• Excellent Excel skills and high attention to detail.
• Organised, proactive and able to prioritise under tight deadlines.
• Initiative to challenge existing processes and drive improvements.

Responsibilities

• Manage full month-end process including accruals and prepayments.
• Prepare concert/event P&Ls and provide financial insight against budgets.
• Collaborate with promoters and operational teams on financial performance.
• Reconcile ticket sales, event income and settlements; investigate discrepancies.
• Review artist settlements and oversee supplier payments.
• Coordinate audits and ensure timely financial reporting.
• Support festival operations during peak periods.
• Identify opportunities to streamline reporting and maximize system use.
• Oversee day-to-day activity of accounts payable staff.
