Job summary

A private equity backed business in Stockport is seeking a newly qualified accountant to work closely with the Financial Controller. This role involves producing monthly management accounts, preparing budgets and forecasts, and analysing business performance. Ideal candidates will be ACCA/CIMA/ACA qualified or finalists, and will thrive in a fast-paced environment while supporting financial governance and compliance.

Qualifications

• Newly qualified accountant or finalist considered.
• Industry trained (CIMA/ACCA) or from mid-upper tier practice (ACA/ACCA).

Responsibilities

• Produce monthly management accounts, including P&L and balance sheet.
• Partner with leaders to support decision-making.
• Prepare annual budgets and forecasts.
• Analyse business performance and improve profitability.
• Maintain financial models and reporting packs.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Assist with statutory accounts preparation.
• Contribute to process improvements and systems enhancements.
