As Management Accountant, you will be entrusted with significant responsibility for shaping the financial landscape of this company. Your day-to-day activities will centre around leading both internal staff members and outsourced professionals in delivering exceptional management accounting services. You will coordinate complex financial processes such as preparing monthly accounts, analysing performance trends, overseeing margin reconciliations, producing Board reports tailored for senior stakeholders, managing balance sheet integrity, supporting budgeting cycles, facilitating audits, and providing ad‑hoc analysis as required. Success in this role hinges on your ability to nurture talent within your team while maintaining rigorous standards for accuracy and compliance. By building strong relationships across departments—including non‑finance colleagues—you will ensure that financial information is communicated clearly and used effectively in strategic decision‑making.

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of management accountants by setting clear objectives, conducting regular performance reviews, and supporting their professional development through coaching and guidance.
• Manage the outsourced management accounting team to ensure timely and accurate delivery of services in line with agreed service level agreements while maintaining strong communication channels.
• Effectively allocate tasks within the team to guarantee high-quality output and foster a collaborative culture focused on achieving shared goals.
• Act as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders and outsourced teams by proactively resolving issues and driving continuous improvement initiatives across all areas of finance.
• Prepare and review monthly management accounts with meticulous attention to accuracy, completeness, and timeliness so that business leaders have reliable data for decision-making.
• Conduct detailed analysis of financial performance including variance analysis and trend identification to support strategic planning throughout the organisation.
• Oversee weekly and monthly margin reconciliations ensuring reported margins are accurate and weighted average cost calculations are up-to-date.
• Produce comprehensive Board reporting packs tailored specifically to business needs so that senior leadership can make informed decisions based on robust financial insights.
• Take full ownership of the balance sheet for the main trading entity by ensuring all reconciliations are current, accurate, well‑documented, and compliant with regulatory standards.
• Provide financial support and guidance to Finance Business Partners and budget holders enabling them to make informed choices aligned with organisational objectives.
