Job Summary

As a Management Accountant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial success of the Company, supporting several company owned distributors. This role involves significant interaction across the business areas including Sales, Service and Business Support teams. You will be responsible for the production of monthly management accounts, supporting budgeting and forecasting, maintaining balance sheet reconciliations and overseeing sales and purchase ledger activities. You will be responsible for month end close to tight deadlines including margin review.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for month end financial closing of several locations to tight deadlines
  • Responsible for monthly balance sheet reconciliations including inventory
  • Month end journals including revenue and cost accrual
  • Finance business parterning with local ops team
  • Leading role in the month end close including review of sales and margin against budget and forecast as per Group reporting timetable
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts including reporting to Group
  • Quarterly reviews of stock & WIP
  • Review credit control activity as performed by the shared service center
  • Weekly forecast of orders and sales
  • Support the annual and quarterly forecasting process
  • Liaison with auditors to support the annual audit process
  • Ensuring compliance with Group Limit of Authority

Key Competencies
  • It is crucial that the individual has the relevant communication skills and experience to support our senior managers, operations teams, and shared service center colleauges
  • The successful candidate will be expected to identify and be partly responsible for continuous improvement in systems/processes
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Experience of margin review essential
  • Advanced MS Excel skills
  • Experience of SAP ECC or SAP Hana would be desirable
  • Experience of Hyperion would be helpful but not essential
  • Experience of a service/manufacturing background would be helpful
  • Experience of Inventory stock counts would be desirable
