Job summary

Sowena Group in Lancashire is partnering with a high growth construction business to recruit a newly qualified Management Accountant. You will report to the Finance Director and provide timely financial reports and month-end information to support decision making.

The role covers asset registers, intercompany reconciliations, VAT returns, budgeting and cash flow planning, with emphasis on accuracy and process improvement. You will contribute to audits and KPI reporting.

Qualifications

• Qualified through ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
• Strong Excel skills and Sage 200 experience.
• Experience in management accounting and month-end procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly and ad hoc management information reports and oversee month-end procedures.
• Maintain asset registers.
• Reconcile intercompany balances.
• Prepare quarterly VAT returns for review before submission.
• Support the Annual Statutory Audit.
• Conduct margin analysis, ROI and KPI reporting.
• Oversee monthly closing of the General Ledger.
• Assist in yearly budget preparation.
• Assist in cash flow planning (short and long term).
• Review Balance Sheet reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
• Monitor relevance and accuracy of information sources.

Sowena Group is excited to be partnered with a high growth and acquisitive construction business in Lancashire, to recruit a newly qualified Management Accountant. You will report into the Finance Director and will be responsible for assisting and providing timely and relevant financial reports.

Key duties and responsibilities of our Management Accountant:

• Monthly and ad hoc accurate management information reports and management of month end procedures
• Maintaining asset registers
• Accountability for the outcomes of all accounting and financial reporting activities
• Reconciliation and agreement of intercompany balances
• Preparation of quarterly VAT returns ready for reviewal before submission
• Provide support with the Annual Statutory Audit
• Conduct margin analysis, ROI and KPI reporting
• Monitor relevance and accuracy of the different sources of information
• Manage the monthly closing of the General Ledger ensuring the financial data accuracy
• Assist in the yearly budget preparation
• Assist in long term and short-term cash flow planning
• Review of Balance Sheet Accounts reconciliation
• Ensure compliance of policies and procedures

Skills and experience required to be our Management Accountant:
