About the Company

We are a growing construction company delivering both residential and commercial projects. We are seeking a hands‑on Management Accountant to take ownership of the finance function.

The Role

This is a broad, end‑to‑end position suited to a practical, detail‑oriented Management Accountant who is comfortable operating independently. You will be responsible for both day‑to‑day transactional accounting and management reporting, supporting the business with accurate financial information and strong financial control.

Key Responsibilities
  • Processing day‑to‑day financial transactions, including purchase invoices, sales invoices, and journals
  • Managing supplier payments, subcontractor payments, and payment runs
  • Bank reconciliations and cash flow management
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting
  • Job costing, cost tracking, and margin analysis for construction projects
  • Monitoring budgets and forecasts, highlighting variances and risks
  • Managing payroll inputs and liaising with external payroll
  • VAT/CIS returns and compliance with relevant financial regulations
  • Liaising with external accountants and tax advisors
  • Supporting directors with ad‑hoc financial analysis
  • Improving financial processes and systems as the business grows
About You
  • Qualified or part‑qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent) or qualified by experience
  • Proven experience in a management accounting role, ideally within construction or a project‑based environment
  • Comfortable handling transaction processing as well as management reporting
  • Strong understanding of job costing and project financials
  • Able to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
  • High attention to detail with a practical, hands‑on approach
  • Confident communicator, able to work closely with non‑finance stakeholders
  • Experience with Xero and Excel
