Job summary

A maritime transportation firm in London seeks a qualified Management Accountant to provide financial support and contribute to a progressive environment. Responsibilities include preparing management accounts, KPI analysis, and assisting in budgeting. Qualifications

The role will be based in our London office with some occasional travel to some of our other sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts and submission to Group finance.
  • Preparation of monthly KPI’s and margin analysis.
  • Preparation of reconciliations including Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss
  • Assisting in preparation and submission of annual Budgets and quarterly forecasts.
  • Preparation of tax analysis for P11D’s & PSA returns.
  • Preparation, posting and review of ad‑hoc and recurring journals.
  • Management of Sales and Purchase ledger.
  • Management of fixed asset register.
  • Suggest improvements in control processes.
  • Treasury function, cash management, bank reconciliations and approval of purchase ledger and other ad‑hoc payments.
  • Provide assistance to cost control function as required.
  • Preparation of VAT returns.
  • Payroll reconciliations.
  • Assistance with external and internal audit requirements.
  • Assistance with the preparation of annual statutory accounts.
  • Assistance with Group Tax Queries.
  • Preparation of compliance documentation.
  • Ad‑hoc tasks as required.
About the Candidate
  • Qualified CIMA / ACCA / ACA with experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in commercial environment would be an advantage.
  • Experience on Dynamics 365 Business Central / Opera / Sage and Cognos would be an advantage.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly competent in the use of Microsoft Office including advanced level Excel skills.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and work under pressure in order to meet internal and external reporting deadlines and requirements.
  • Proactive and "can-do" attitude.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Willingness to travel to other sites occasionally.
  • Experience in a similar industry would be an advantage.
