We’re searching for a Management Accountant who enjoys getting under the skin of a business, not just producing a set of figures. You’ll take ownership of monthly management accounts across a varied client base, producing clear reports, commentary, forecasts and analysis that help business owners understand what’s really going on. This isn’t a box-ticking role you’ll be involved in the conversations that shape direction, highlight opportunities and flag issues before they become problems. It’s a role for someone who wants their work to be noticed and relied on.
The position is with a long-established accountancy practice in North Finchley known for its hands‑on, straight‑talking approach. They support a wide mix of small and medium‑sized businesses with everything from annual accounts to day‑to‑day financial guidance. The team works in a practical, supportive way, valuing clarity, consistency, and genuine relationships over jargon or corporate noise. You’ll be joining a firm that looks after its clients and its staff with equal care.
Monday to Friday
9:00am 5:30pm.
Produce monthly management accounts including P&L, balance sheet and cashflow reports.
Carry out variance analysis and offer clear, grounded commentary.
Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities.
Manage month‑end routines and ensure all timelines are met.
Present financial information to directors and clients in a way that’s easy to understand and act on.
Suggest improvements to reporting, processes and data accuracy.
Build strong working relationships with clients and internal colleagues.
Part-qualified or qualified ACCA / CIMA / ACA (or equivalent).
Experience of Sage and Paperless
Proven experience in management accounting, ideally within a practice environment.
Confident analysing data and explaining what it means in real‑world terms.
Strong Excel skills and the ability to pick up new systems quickly
Someone who doesn’t wait for instructions you ask questions, share ideas and take ownership.
Clear communicator who is comfortable working with business owners and internal stakeholders.
