A leading recruitment agency is seeking an immediately available Management Accountant to join a finance team temporarily. This role requires strong attention to detail for preparing accurate management accounts and supporting budgeting. Responsibilities include financial reporting, VAT management, and audit preparation. The ideal candidate should be proficient in Excel and have effective communication skills. This position is located in Greater London and requires the candidate to be within commutable distance.
Our client is looking for an immediately available Management Accountant to join their finance team on a temporary basis. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, this role is key to delivering accurate, timely financial information, enhancing internal reporting, and supporting business initiatives. The successful candidate will contribute to maintaining strong financial controls while driving continuous improvement across finance processes and must live within a commutable distance to their Cardiff offices.
Prepare monthly management accounts for review.
Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly journal entries, including accruals and prepayments.
Conduct P&L review
Review balance sheets and ensure regular reconciliation of key accounts
Undertake VAT returns and manage monthly intercompany balances, ensuring statutory compliance.
Prepare audit information, provide analysis and respond to queries for external audit.
Prepare / supervise daily bank reconciliations in the finance system.
Prepare weekly cash flow forecast
Maintain and manage the fixed assets register.
Collaborate with administrative and support teams to optimise financial processes and meet monthly deadlines.
Partner with the Finance Controller to design and implement controls and systems that align with company requirements.
Oversee the work of the Accounts Assistant.
Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and compliance in financial reporting.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Proficiency in Excel and accounting software.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to support decision-making in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Knowledge of IFRS desirable
