Position: Management Accountant

Contract: 6-Month Fixed Term, with a view to extend

Location: Clerkenwell, Central London

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Management Accountant to manage the Accounts Receivable function and play a key role in the financial accounting and reporting process.

Reporting into Head of Finance, we are looking for an individual who is driven, commercially literate and has the ability to work independently as part of a small busy team.

Key Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable Management
  • Oversee receivables invoices and remittance postings in Xero, ensuring correct coding and VAT treatment
  • Manage the relationship with factor company, ensuring statements are fully reconciled on a monthly basis
  • Ensure Ecommerce transactions are reconciled on a monthly basis and any discrepancies highlighted to Ecommerce team and resolved promptly
  • Oversee all necessary revenue and payables documentation, including invoices, credit notes and statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies
  • Ensure customer accounts are reconciled with customer and factor company records
  • Perform ongoing reviews of aged debts with timely resolution of invoice queries to ensure prompt payment from customers
  • Oversee the collection of overdue accounts, ensuring timely recovery of debts while maintaining positive customer relationships, including proposing of payment plans and liaising with debt collection agencies when necessary
Financial Reporting and Management Accounting
  • Reconcile payments on bank statements across multiple currencies (GBP, EUR, and USD) ensuring accurate, reconciled data across accounts and factoring company
  • Provide regular reports on receivables, overdue accounts, and cash flow forecasts to senior management, helping to inform financial decision-making
  • Perform sales and debtors reconciliations across different platforms (Zedonk /Shopify /Xero/Stripe)
  • Inventory reconciliation
  • Fixed assets register maintenance
  • Balance sheet reconciliations and analysis for external audit
  • Assist in preparation of monthly financial report and budget and forecast
  • Assist the Head of Finance with project development work
Essential Skills and Experience
  • 3+ years experience in an Accounts Receivable/Sales Ledger role
  • Proactive, organised, responsible individual who is looking to work in a dynamic business
  • Excellent Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas) and systems knowledge – preferably Xero, Zedonk and Shopify
  • High level attention to detail
  • Self-Starter who is able to set and manage their own priorities
  • Prior experience within Wholesale is essential, ideally international and experience with factoring companies
  • Interest and ability to work in a creative, fashion environment
