A growing specialist business in the manufacturing sector is seeking a qualified Management Accountant to lead and develop their finance team. The ideal candidate will hold a CIMA or ACCA qualification and have strong management accounting experience, ideally within construction, manufacturing, or similar industries. This proactive role involves managing company cash flow, overseeing audits, and supporting a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the finance team, fostering a positive and collaborative working environment
- Manage and report on company cash flow on a weekly basis
- Oversee and manage audits from start to finish
- Maintain relationships with banking and financial stakeholders
- Implement improvements to cash flow and profitability
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies
Day-to-Day Duties
- Preparation of management accounts, balance sheets, and profit & loss statements
- Reconciliation of accounts and review of Work in Progress (WIP)
- Budget preparation, monitoring, and variance analysis
- Monitoring company expenses and departmental costsPosting journals and processing month-end/year-end accounting entries
- Liaising with suppliers, customers, and internal departments regarding financial queries
- Preparing reports and analysis for senior management to support decision-making
- Maintaining accurate financial records and systems (SAGE 50)
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- CIMA or ACCA qualification (or equivalent)
- Proven experience in management accounting within manufacturing, construction, or similar sectors
- Strong understanding of Work in Progress (WIP) accounting
- Experience managing company cash flow weekly
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a finance team
- Experience managing audits from start to finish
- Proficiency in SAGE 50 accounting software
- Degree-equivalent qualification in Management Accounting
- Experience in both professional and industry settings
