Job Description

The Management Accountant will be based at head office and report into the Group Financial Controller. You will proactively manage the day-to-day financial processes, ensuring standardisation of daily processes within the finance team. Responsibilities will include:

  • Monthly accounts (P&L and BS)
  • Monthly returns and month end reporting
  • Financial planning and analysis
  • Fixed Asset control
  • Cash flow forecasting
  • Finance Policies / controls
  • Finance team management (Finance assistants)
  • Assisting with the preparation of Statutory accounts
  • Involvement with corporation tax calculations and other tax matters
  • Liaising with the Auditors and other third parties relating to audit matters
  • You will be responsible for month end processes including but not limited to Profit and Loss, along with associated Balance Sheet accounts.
  • Provide insightful and accurate analysis to support the business.
  • Work closely with the rest of the Finance department in order to carry out their responsibilities and ensure consistency and best practice is developed and maintained across the function.
  • Work closely with the senior management team and department heads, reporting and reviewing income and spend at both detailed and summary level.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Management Accountant should have:

  • Significant knowledge of Management AccountingExperience of preparing reports and analysis for presentation to senior managementIdeally the candidate will be a Qualified Accountant but Part Qualified or Qualified by experience will be consideredA high level of computer literacy - needs to be a proficient user of financial systems & competent in the Microsoft Office suite - Excel, Outlook, Word & PowerPoint.Advanced Excel skills including look- ups, pivot tables and use of advanced formulae.Experience of Sage50 (desirable)Ability to thrive in a faced paced environment.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Confident dealing with colleagues of all levelsAbility to analyse, interpret and provide insight & commentary on financial reportA high level of attention to detail and self regulationA good understanding of the dynamic functions of finance including Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.
