Job description

Tradewind are currently recruiting for a Male Teaching Assistant to work in a Liverpool secondary school rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted.

The school is looking for a Male Teaching Assistant to support a male pupil who has been assessed, and it has been determined that a male would be better suited to the child's needs. The role starts immediately and is long‑term. Working hours are Monday – Friday, 8:20 am – 3:15 pm, term time only.

Responsibilities

• Work under the direction and guidance of the Special Educational Needs Co‑ordinator.
• Support the student with academic learning and with developing social, emotional and mental health.
• Establish a productive and supportive relationship.
• Set high expectations and act as a role model.
• Support with pupils’ behavioural problems and help develop their social skills.

Requirements

• Relevant experience working with children who have special educational needs.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated compassion and patience.
• Ability to build strong connections with students, colleagues and parents.
• Positive attitude and genuine passion for helping students reach their full potential.
• Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the update service or prepared to undertake a new one.
• Full and complete 10‑year career history.
• Minimum of two references, including most recent employment reference.
• Legal right to work in the UK.
